Blog 7: Music

My favorite singer today is Grimes because her music draws on an eclectic mix of styles, including electronic music, synth-pop, R&B, dream pop, and hip hop, and has been described as synth-pop and art pop. I love that she is able mix those styles of music and create songs amazings. Moreover her voice I love because I've never heard anyone use their voice like it was just another instrument before. Also is my favorite singer because she has created all of her music. She is songwriter, producter her songs and artist of the designing her albums covers. 

I think Grimes is doing something very controversial with her music. She's not using catchy hooks, she doesn't care to reach out to a specific audience, and has no formal music training. She just creates what she feels is emotionally gratifying. Truly, close your eyes and feel, emotion. Which is hard for most to appreciate because we're so conditioned to look for that hook, that repeating chorus we can relate to, and the message we can share with the artist. Grimes abstracts her vocals purposefully, she scatters the meaning of her songs, and she doesn't create with a structure in mind.

My favorite albums of Grimes are Visions and Art Angels. I think that Visions is grower. Notably, the first half of the album sounds much more powerful after giving it time to digest. Moreover, this album contains some very unique and beautiful textures, particularly in the second half. On the other hand,  Art Angles is the album most pop she has gone yet and it works. I still hear that experimental sound though which I love. It's not polished and I think that's what I like about the album. In a world where all the pop artists sound like the next pop artist with a twist, nothing sounds like Grimes and I think it is because she is still experimenting.

Genres of music that i enjoy are punk, post-punk, hardcore and pop because I grew up with those genres in my home, for influenced of my older brother. Also i love others genres or bands of music but i dont much interest me the genre that belong the bands.

Blog 2: The best concert ever

The best concert I have ever been was the concert of Morrissey. Morrissey is an English singer, songwriter and author. He came to prominence as the front man of The Smiths, a rock band active from 1982 to 1987. Since then, he has pursued a commercially successful solo career.  The concert was on 11 November of 2015 and it was in Movistar Arena. I was very excited because in that date I listened it's songs every day and I knew everything about him. Also, that was the first concert I have ever attended in my life. I went with my brother that also he was very excited. The atmosphere during the event was lot of noise that the people doing. The people taking photos and throwing flowers to him. Throw the flag of the country to him or flowers it is always made. Blog 8: English Language Challenges

So today I am going to talk about my experience learning english at university and the use of blogs. Well, my experience learnig english at university have been of ups and downs because never I have had interest for learn english, I say "okay, I stay here in chile, no problem with the people that journey for the world", but in this year and at the end of last year I changed my vision of that I want for my life. So this year i have put much interest of learning and always propose me that I will be able to do if I am constant in this.  The use of blogs in the english class help much improve writing in this language. So I think it is a tool within our grasp very important for an effective learning of we as students.  The aspects of my english need to be improved are: vocabulary and listening. Blog 4: Pets

My pet is a cat. I name him Mao, not Mao Zedong jajaja. he lives with me and my family since 2017, in the October is his birthday and he will be 3 years old. I adopted him when he was just 4 months old because a neighbor’s cat had baby cats and my parents wanted one cat so I and mi father we went find him. My father chose him because he was the most restless among the cats that were there, and he remains very restless. Also, he is very weepy, sometimes we don't know why he meow, we think that he may feel like pooping or wants to go out or is hungry. But mainly, he is very loving, he gives us a lot of love with his actions and faces that he puts. There is one thing that I love a lot about him and is that he purrs much without we give love him, he always purrs. Also, I love but I also hate about him is that he scratches the beds :/ ...I love him so much.
